Is Tanguay the Answer?

Alex Tanguay is not the answer that Tampa Bay Lightning is looking for. This is another stupid move for that team. They thought they had the greatest team last year and we all seen what happened. I'll admit that he is a good player, but Tampa Bay needs to focus on young, strong defensive players. They have enough forward talent with St. Louis and Lecavalier. The only time the Lightning will see the Stanley Cup anytime soon is in their dreams!!!

Bertuzzi Returns

Todd Bertuzzi makes his return back to Detroit. I honestly think that Bertuzzi is not the answer to help the Detroit Red Wings. In my opinion, this is the same stupid thinking comparable to when Detroit signed Hossa last season. Hossa did nothing in the playoffs and basically aided in handing the Pittsburgh Penguins the Stanley Cup. It is nice to see a veteran return, but this is not the answer that Detroit needs right now. They need to focus on young talent not injury prone players.

Weekend Open Thread

I am going to be a little busy this weekend. If I get a change to think, I will try to post something regarding hockey. In the mean time feel free to discuss what you want.

Free Agency

The only thing going on in the world of hockey right now is free agency. There has been some good free agency signings already. The biggest move no doubt would probably be Hossa going to Chicago for a 12 year deal. I think this was a good move for the club. They needed some experience and I think they got that by signing a veteran like Hossa.

I think the L.A. Kings looked desperate by signing defenseman, Rob Scuderi for 4 years ($13.6 mil). Ok, he has a cup win on his resume (penguins 2009), but is he really worth that amount?

I also liked seeing Saku Koivu signing with the Ducks and Nikolai Khabibulin signing with the Oilers. It should be an interesting shake up.

There are still some signings yet to come. Overall, I think there has been a lot of interesting moves throughout the NHL.
